inglês Watching Rojo could present problems for Czech audiences unfamiliar with Argentine national history just as if an Argentine audience were unfamiliar with the history of Czechoslovakia while watching Cosy Dens. In the case of Rojo, however, it is even more complicated, because it is a drama/thriller based on insinuations, winks, and metaphors foreshadowing the coming (American-backed) military coup d'état in a country where thousands of people disappeared (there are so many allusions to this in the movie that the name could have been "Disappearing People," but that would have been like a punch in the face), and which was a kind of a dark time for the Argentine people. For some, the movie may not be very clear, for others, on the contrary, it will make complete sense, I especially enjoyed Rojo thanks to the great performance of Dario Grandinetti. This is an unconventional and disturbing drama. [KVIFF 2019] ()
