Lukas Dhont was born in Ghent, Belgium, where he studied Audiovisual Arts. His short films Corps perdu and L’infini have won numerous awards. L’infini also received an Oscar nomination in 2015. In 2016, he participated in the Cannes Cinéfondation with Girl, the screenplay of his first feature film. It included the director’s favorite subjects such as dance, transformation, and identity. Dhont also collaborates on a regular basis with choreographer and dancer Jan Martens, with whom he made the show The Common People.
