A biographical emotional rollercoaster, filled with absolutely breathtaking, naturally portrayed performances by the two leads. Not a superficial affair, a very unique cinematic case of faith that focuses on the deeper ideas of the meaning of life. Fantastic music, craftsmanship and a story that will make you laugh, move and encourage reflection with its heartfelt moments. The fact that the film tells a real life event gives you goosebumps and a lot of questions that will probably remain unanswered forever. ~ We paint with brushes... He paints with a billion stars and a trillion galaxies. ~ ()
I don't believe in the Christian God, which is probably why the story being told really said nothing to me. Who knows, maybe I'd be excited if I were a believer. I did shed a few tears during the movie, but I dare say that there are much better and less cheesy films about dying of cancer than this one, which I simply have to take into account in my rating. On the other hand, I quite liked the ubiquitous religious-themed music. I didn’t know Jeremy Camp's work at all until now, but I'd like to hear more from him. (60%) ()
