A melancholy tale of a very sad Ricky Gervais trying to unload his depression onto everyone around him. But instead of dragging everyone down, the people in his life — except for the lawyer — are so kind and understanding that having such a circle seems like a dream. What could’ve been a heavy, dark series turns into a surprisingly uplifting and comforting watch. Ricky's trademark sarcastic humor feels like he’s just stepped off the Golden Globes stage, delivering sharp lines to regular folks who respond with warmth and gratitude. It's a delightful, relaxing series set in a quaint English town, where the sunny blue skies might be hard to believe, but they add to the comforting charm. (10/01/2022)

If you enjoyed the first two seasons, you'll likely be satisfied with Season 3 as well. It doesn't bring anything drastically new to the table. The main character is still grappling with depression, COVID looms in the background, there are a few new characters who are pretty likable, and the series wraps up in a way that doesn't really take any big swings, which is a bit of a shame but still okay. The humor and the cozy vibe of the English small town, which are the show's biggest strengths, remain intact, so you can easily forgive its shortcomings. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a fourth season.
