I must say, I was surprised at how a simple film could sometimes win 9 Oscars. It's a musical that stands out mainly for its beautiful production design and costumes, and... that's basically it. The story is extremely simple, and drawn out, and the characters aren't particularly well-written. It’s just an overlong love story about what once happened in Paris.
