Um filme do qual radiam toneladas de raiva, ódio, depravação, violência extrema e perversão sexual. Um filme que infelizmente não pode ser condenado como lixo provocador barato, porque é sofisticadamente escrito, dirigido com arte, dinamicamente editado, brilhantemente representado, imprevisível e nem por um segundo aborrecido. O ator hoje em dia reconhecido Anthony Wong interpreta de forma credível o assassino bestial e pervertido sexualmente. Ele não teria problemas em molhar com gasolina e em incendiar uma menina cujos pais ele tinha acabado de matar à frente dela (a cena de abertura, preparando o clímax para o resto da ação). O filme o acompanha como um «natural born killer» e nas suas ações vai além dos limites da imaginação mais depravada. O pior de tudo é que não o glorifica particularmente nem o julga. Esta neutralidade do filme, que por vezes desliza em humor negro para um público muito pequeno, é a semente de um intenso sentimento mórbido do qual poucos filmes se podem orgulhar. Eu evitaria o argumentista por quilómetros... O motivo do vírus Ébola, do qual o nosso «herói» se torna portador, só entra em cena na segunda metade, e só aumenta e aprofunda a ansiedade e o nojo da atmosfera deprimida. Completamente não recomendo para os espetadores mais sensíveis e inexperientes. (05/09/2005)

With what the film Ebola Syndrome had, the creators did a great job with it. There is humor that lightens things up a bit, but there are also appropriately grim and gritty scenes that balance it out. When it comes to gore, the autopsy scene in this regard is beautifully executed, showing that when handled by a capable artist, gore can indeed look disgustingly real. Here, you can point out a certain waxiness of the body, but that can also be excused by the character's illness. This film surprised me a lot, in a positive sense. (23/09/2014)

Together with Red to Kill, for me the best Hong Kong Cat 3 shocker with an unforgettable Anthony Wong, who once again gives an incredibly crazy, sick performance!! The film is decently gory, uncomfortable to watch, disturbing and has a great idea, this is what HK CAT 3 should look like! I recommend it. 75%. (25/06/2014)
