Sinopses(1)

In the wake of a botched bust meant to shut down an organ-trafficking ring, undercover cop Kit (Wu Jing) has his cover blown. As payback, the sinister gang sends him to a Thai prison run by a corrupt warden (Zhang Jin), who swaps Kit's identity with that of a prisoner facing a life sentence. Meanwhile, Chai (Tony Jaa), a guard at the prison, is desperate to find a bone-marrow donor who will save his daughter's life. Though aware of Kit's wrongful imprisonment, Chai has no choice but to thwart the innocent man's escape attempts as he tries to save enough money for the life-saving operation. These two trapped men will end up fighting to save themselves as well as the lives of their loved ones, and no prison can hold them. (Toronto International Film Festival)

inglês Asia on Top! Kill Zone 2 is surprisingly much more focused on story building and atmosphere than the action itself, which is surprising, not a bad thing. It has a solid story for an action film, with decent plot twists, quality actors, working emotions and a pretty good pace, even though there are only two action scenes in the first hour. The second half works better, featuring an excellent prison break and a nearly half-hour grand finale by the biggest contemporary martial arts stars, a fan's dream come true. Tony Jaa is excellent as always, going for his favourite Ong Bak technique (elbows, knees, kicks), Jacky Wu gives us an excellent dynamic knife and baton fight vs Andy On, one of the best of its kind. But the biggest surprise is Zhang Jin, the main bad guy, who gives the best performance I have ever seen in a martial art film. His entrance is magnificent, awe-inspiring and breathtaking. He's so good, not even Jacky and Tony together can match him. The fights are breathtakingly and elegantly choreographed and clear, very fast, dynamic and properly rough. I'll give it the crown for the best action movie of the year, where even a tear of emotion drops towards the end. I screamed and cursed like crazy. 90% ()

inglês (2015). Great action scenes. The prison fight and the (Vivaldi) finale are very well done. Hong Kong and Taiwan schools at their peak. The story revolving around illegal organ trafficking isn’t bad, but it’s confusing, with a couple of strange twists. It could have scored four stars, but some stuff is just too far-fetched. It has no connection whatsoever with part one. Tony’s Jaa is still the same old Jaa… Chop him up and throw him to the dogs. ()

inglês It's not quite as great as the first installment, which was made in 2005, but the filmmakers were aiming for the same thing - to bring audiences an action movie that has emotion in it. But I think it's still mainly the action aspect that will make the film memorable. There are fights here that are gritty but at the same time choreographically stunning. ()
