Bad Country

If it weren't so average, it would be quite an interesting film. But the fact is that it is just average and doesn't bring anything new to the table. The actors are good, and their performances are exactly as convincing as needed. It's not very complicated; it's simply about guys who want to do one good thing even though there's a risk they might not survive it. It’s okay, but nothing great. (26/04/2014)

Um drama de crime comum sem um manuscrito autoral. Parece televisivo, reciclagem do 100 vezes visto. A dinâmica da narrativa está presente, mas os personagens carecem de características mais nítidas. É suficiente vê-lo só uma vez, principalmente graças a Dafoe, que é o mais convincente no seu papel. Dillon está inicialmente inseguro, o que se revela uma possível intenção de não mostrar emoção ou revelar a natureza do personagem. Berenger como o maior chefe da máfia é questionável. Ele evocou em mim mais um tio bêbado dum lar de idosos do que um vilão provocador de medo. Feito para televisão para o espetador que gosta de desfrutar nos velhos tempos. (27/09/2014)

Every now and then, actors showcase some absolutely breathtaking acting performances in a movie that’s about as ordinary as a hotdog from a stand that gets fresh supplies about twice a week. And it’s a shame, because Willem Dafoe, Tom Berenger and Matt Dillon straight up became American hicks in this movie and it was a joy to watch. Unfortunately, not even that could save the boredom, mediocrity and the ordinariness of everything else. (23/02/2016)
