I don’t really know how to rate this movie. I’m happy that Jean-Claude Van Damme finally had a different role than usual. It’s a welcome change when he’s with different actors and a different director. I also don’t think he was there as scarcely as other reviewers claim. But on the other hand, this movie was a bunch of hokum. Sure, I must admit that I had a laugh here and there, but overall, it was more of a hokum than a comedy. I’m still contemplating whether to give it two or three stars because Megan Boone was pretty hot. ()
JCVD is simply a badass and comedies suit him quite well. He overacts, but honestly, I don't care. I love him here. The story is nonsense, a stupid variation of "Lord of the Flies," but it doesn't matter at all, sometimes it's funny. The characters are tolerable, even though the film itself is sometimes unbearable. Still, I give it an above-average rating because when it comes to JCVD, I can easily overlook any flaws. ()
