The loose sequel to The Copper Tower is still a drama, but this time with comedic elements. The result is not bad at all. The Copper Tower was definitely a better film, but I liked this one, too. The main difference is that I laughed more, and the dramatic plot was a bit weaker. Anyway, the High Tatra Mountains were still the most dominant feature of both these films. A loose sequel that begins where the last movie ended. Unfortunately, it merely recycles what worked excellently in The Copper Tower. Okay, there are still quality actors here, the majestic foothills of the High Tatra mountain range too, but it lacks the power of “friendship above all" that formed the basis of the first movie. The screenplay is relatively boring and uninteresting, the music is the same, the locations identical. The whole thing is purely superfluous, nicely acted nothing. It’s watchable, but sub-standard in terms of quality. (24/04/2005)

In the Copper Tower, the story is told of friendship, betrayal, death, and the majesty of mountains, that is, of topics that are grand, significant, and strongly archetypal. However, the Feather closely follows the story in terms of plot, but definitely not in genre or quality. Where the cottage was once a symbol, it is now just a secondary backdrop. Where friendship could be considered indestructible, there are now only fragments of the adventures of two unsympathetic loafers, and most of the plot is, without exaggeration, stupid. With squinted eyes, I understand the attempt at a car chase or the rustling of paper with Lieutenant Pardek, but I welcome the only significant storyline with Prašivec. However, for scenes where the sweaty peasant Valera repeatedly and unreasonably chases barely legal Andrea Čundrlíková, I would prefer to lower the rating even further. Fulfilling erotic fantasies in praise of Slovak nature seriously doesn't belong. (03/06/2024)
