It's just a classic American war film that doesn't quite grab me. There are great actors here; Henry Fonda surprised me, he seemed to have aged a lot (I recently saw films where he was still younger), but Charlton Heston impressed me the most. After all, he had the starring role. I almost thought there wouldn't be any fighting because the first hour was quite uneventful and more focused on relationships, but it eventually worked out. The ending, however, is not quite as classic and it intrigued me.
