My Fake Boyfriend

A surprisingly good feel-good comedy with a likeable idea, funny actors and a lot of simple but very engaging humour. The story moves along solidly, the film doesn't get boring at all and serves up some pretty funny situations. I didn't get outright fits of laughter and the humour is kept fairly low key, but there are often apt lines and where other films promote the LGBTQ community in a forceful, morbid and embarrassing way, here it's done with humour and you find yourself laughing your heart out. A fine popcorn movie for the evening. (08/11/2022)
