inglês Sometimes I do this, that I try series that I wouldn't normally watch at all. This one appeared suddenly on the Apple TV platform, the acting didn't really impress me and the theme didn't really dazzle me either. But oh well, I said to myself. I'll try it and if I don't like it after the first episode, I'll discard it. But here it was exactly the opposite. I didn't expect anything and was literally thrilled after the first episode. The theme is based on a Japanese manga (which, if I understood correctly, has not been released here) and tells the story of a young French girl whose dad dies and she goes to Japan (where he lived for the last about ten years) for the funeral. There she finds out that her dad, who totally ignored her in recent years, had a considerable fortune in the form of the world's largest wine collection. But in order to inherit that fortune, she must compete with a boy whom her father taught sommelier in the last ten years. And to make it even more challenging, they both have to complete three tasks, which actually make the interesting plot blossom beautifully episode after episode. The series takes place either in French vineyards, which is an intriguing setting in itself, or in Tokyo, which is also worth watching, because Tokyo is incredibly photogenic. And episode after episode, the story of two people connected by the death of a legend in the wine industry unfolds. The whole time it's been on such lovely four stars, as I watched the series with pleasure and joy. But the series earned the fifth star with the very ending, which surprised me exactly as I would imagine from a five-star series. So all in all. For me personally, one of the biggest TV series surprises in recent years and another reason to occasionally go against the flow and try something I would never watch under different circumstances.
