inglês A beautiful post-apocalyptic fairy tale. It does not deny the author of the original with elaborate characters, because that is exactly what Jeff Lemire focuses on, and he rewards the viewer with each episode with another piece of the "what, why, who and how" puzzle. Unexpected things often happen, often exciting and especially in the final parts also genuinely touching and one hundred percent impressive. I hope, I hope, I hope that Sweet Tooth gets the second season. And that a book will be published in the Czech Republic soon. ()

inglês To be honest, I wasn't too keen on it. The promotional materials made Sweet Tooth feel like teen fantasy, a genre that usually gives me the creeps, but in the end, I made it through the whole series in one afternoon. It moves along nicely with some pretty interesting and rough stuff happening in the course of a few episodes. The only thing that bothered me were the make-up effects of the hybrids, which often are a little too "cute" and give the impression of a show aimed at kids, which is far from accurate in a story where infected unfortunates are merrily killed and burned alive. A funny thing is the striking similarities with the current pandemic situation, the penultimate episode could have taken place in the virology institute in Wuhan :D After eight episodes it's played out nicely and I'm quite curious about how it will continue. inglês I have to admit, I was skeptical at first. Who wouldn’t be, with a story about a little boy with deer ears and antlers? But after the first episode, I was hooked. The post-apocalyptic dystopian world is portrayed subtly yet effectively, drawing you into the atmosphere of a ravaged America. The premise, though seemingly wild, works surprisingly well. It feels like an alternative take on The Last of Us, especially with the central duo. The show sometimes teeters between being whimsically cute and darkly brutal, but it balances it in a way that kept me engaged. After two seasons, I’m satisfied and very curious to see where the story goes next. ()
